Angels All Around Us

It was noisy on the Bayou today! Very noisy.. has been for the past few days and will be for two more days. There is "Thunder" on the Back Bay like none other. Keesler Air Force Base is celebrating its 70th birthday. There is huge air show this weekend and I have a front row seat! Actually, I live directly across the Back Bay from the air base and the planes all perform over the Bay. My pier should be the prime viewing area for the entire show. All sorts of planes will be flying and doing stunts over the water and they have been putting on quite a show for most of this week. Antique planes to warplanes to unmanned planes will be on hand for viewing and performances. The Army Golden Knights Parachute Team will open the show on both Saturday and Sunday. The Coast Guard will have their H-65 Dolphin Helicopter on hand and after many other "flybys" and stunt performances, the Navy Blue Angels will take to the air. It should be a spectacular event if the performance today is any indication of what is to come. The weather is predicted to be sunny and warm..perfect for an event of this type!

The most anticipated performance will definitely be by the Blue Angels. This is the first time since 1978 that the Navy Flight Team, Blue Angels has made an appearance on the Gulf Coast so we are all excited to have them back! The Blue Angels are a group of amazing pilots that fly their F/A -18 Hornets in some of the most breathtaking maneuvers ever witnessed. According to the local newspaper, at times their planes are a mere 18 inches apart..WOW!

I am excited to have our Angels back again..they bring thunder over the Bay..and pride in our hearts. Speaking for all the folks here across the Bay from Keesler Air Force Base...We love our Blue Angels!
