Very Misleading

Our weather has been most delightful as of late.  The nights bring the temperatures down in the sixties with the daytime only getting into the mid-seventies.  This makes it easy to be outside working in the gardens or even fishing on the pier. Until recently, all of this cooler weather came with sunshiny days.

Then came yesterday and today. Not that the weather took a turn for the worse but rather it was a bit misleading.  If I had been looking out from some climate-controlled building, I would have been convinced that the outside weather was quite bitter.  It just "looked" cold.  A certain grayness took over our bright days and a fine mist of a rain kept things dreary.  I loved it!  I kept thinking that this was the coming of my favorite of seasons...winter.  Yep, I am one of those folks who love the cold days of winter.  My living on the Bayou in the Deep South might make me ineligible to call our winters cold but, hey, it does get chilly sometimes!

While I was on the pier trying to catch a few mullet for the crippled heron and a few shrimp for myself, my thoughts were wandering to gathering firewood, cast-iron woodstoves and warm apple pie!  Yep, I am definitely ready!  Fall and winter..come on!  You are welcome here on the Bayou!
