Kisses from Heaven

Kisses from Heaven!  That sounds like the sweetest thing ever, does it not?  Back in the day when my kids were small, they used that term a good bit.  I am not sure where they heard it in the first place but whoever said it must have made quite the impression.  Kisses from Heaven was the term that the kids used for the fine mist that would occasionally fall around here on the Bayou.  This was not a "rain", not a "shower", not even a "sprinkle".  It was a fine mist that would not even be enough to wet the hair.  Kisses from Heaven....I guess that light coolness was being sent down by their grandmother as she passed away before my kids even got to know her.  This was Mark's mother and such a fine lady.  I do so wish the kids would have had the opportunity to have her in their lives.  And if anyone was sending down kisses from Heaven, I would have to say it was most likely her.

Last evening while I was on the pier, I noticed that the clouds were unusually bright.  The sky was inky black but the puffy clouds all had a lovely pink glow about them.  Directly across the Bay from the pier, one particular cloud stood out from the rest.  This one appeared to have the shape of a pair of lips. Ahh, kisses from Heaven!  They are real!  At least the cloud looked like giant lips to me!

It is always interesting how some small sighting can trigger a memory that was long forgotten.  Here, a cloud made me think of the phrase, which in turn made me think of my kids, which then made me think of my mother-in-law.  Wow!  That sure is a lot of wonderful memories brought on by a single cloud formation!
