Strike A Pose!
The wildlife around the Bayou is a constant source of amusement. Let it be the baby fox that tumble around at the mouth of their den or the frogs that puff themselves up during courtship. If you really take the time to watch the critters, you will come to realize that their show is far better than any on TV. In fact, I have done away with our TV simply because I found nothing worth watching. It was all pretty much brain rot and I sure do not need that!
While on the pier, I noticed a lovely Great Egret sitting on the next pier over. The bird had just flown to the top of a pier post and had started preening itself. Well, I am never without the camera so the bird became the "subject of the day". After about the third photo, it seemed as if the egret knew I was taking pictures and was determined that I get its best pose. It kept preening its feathers but offered some beautiful wing shots! I am always impressed by the whiteness of the birds. This one had just come from the marsh, yet was pristine! Nary a dot of mud sullied its gleaming plumage! Strike a pose, my fine feathered friend! You have every right to strut your stuff!
