The dogs were looking a bit mischievous making me wonder just what they had been up to while I was gone! I inspected, nothing was amiss, I let out a sigh of relief! One never knows with two large dogs just what might be turned topsy-turvey in a brief absence! This time the room was still intact! Good dogs! Ms. Ez has been enjoying her friend's visit and I think PJ just enjoys life.

Castles in the Clouds
I trotted myself to the pier bright and early this morning. I was alone as neither Ezzy or PJ had enough gumption to pull themselves from their toasty beds. (PJ is my son and daughter-in-law's dog.) They might have had the right idea..sleeping in a bit later might not have been a bad idea. Still, I wandered down the hill just in time to catch a gorgeous sunrise. This morning, a slight fog wafted over the marsh..just enough fog to set an ambiance in place for the imagination to be stirred. Mine was in full reel..(as it usually is!). Across the mouth of the Bayou and way in the distance, you can glimpse one of the casinos that dot the Coast. The Imperial Palace sits quite a distance from my place but still gives quite the grandiose appearance. The rising sun cast just enough light on the building to give it an almost medieval aura. I was mystified..and the brain fogged with thoughts of castles, fiery dragons and brave knights! For a few minutes, I was transported to a time long ago, a place filled with all of the fun things an overactive imagination can dream up. According to Gilbert Chesterton, "There are not rules for building castles in the clouds.", so I built castles in the clouds. That is one of the pleasures of living on the Bayou, I can dream..I can dream of whatever I want and there is no one around to take issue with it. So for a few minutes, this casino was a castle! Then a loud squawking brought me back to reality! Old Mr. Heron fussed enough to jar the brain out of the foggy world of make-believe and back into the cold presence. I snapped a more pictures of my sunrise and a few of him, took off for the warmth of the house.
