Building Project!

Today was another day that was spent doing the unthinkable...cleaning house. To my way of thinking, cleaning house is a pure waste of time as it is just going to get messy all over again. It might as well stay messy! But..I clean...and dream of being outside. All of this cleaning is in preparation of some new shelves. This project all started because my brother-in-law sent some half-built cabinets. I pondered just what in the world I was supposed to do with half-built cabinets, then the bright idea hit me...A CRAFT CORNER! I tossed the idea out to Hubby and Son..they assured me that it was possible. I was elated! Then I was told that I had to clear the area..umm..wait a minute! "I" had to clear the area??? Ok...so I spent the day moving furniture. If it had been for any other reason, I would have perhaps not been so agreeable to dragging heavy pieces of furniture across the room. I, also, would not have found the dust bunnies that were rivaling elephants in size! These things were huge and I promise had a bit of personality to them! They had spunk! Regardless of the size and vast number of dust elephants, I toiled on and soon had one side of the room cleared.

The craft corner is almost complete! The cabinets have been remade into counters with shelves to my specifications. Now I just have to get wicker baskets to stash all of my "junk". Dear Sister-in-law Cynthia has volunteered to come help me sort the stuff and label each basket! Then the creating can begin in earnest! All of my supplies will be at my fingertips and I will not have to spend time searching for that elusive bottle of glue, those lost scissors or missing fine tipped paintbrush! Everything will be handy! Ahhhhh....my own little space! I can hardly wait until it is all in place!

After we finished the building project for the day, a trek to the pier was in order. My brother and his sweet friend, Anna, were on the end of his pier. As Hubby and I neared the end of the pier, my brother pointed toward the water..the gator was there! Little Bit had come to pay a visit again! I took several pictures of it before darkness surrounded us making the photography session over. I love the way the gator's eyes reflect the flash from my camera! As we walked back toward the house, I had the unsettling thought of being trapped on the pier by Mama Gator! What if....just imagine...what if I come up the pier late one evening and Mama Gator is sitting there and won't let me pass! Gulp! Gator Bait! I guess I would just have to spend the night on the pier and hope she does not decide to amble down toward me!
