Crazy Ezzy!

Sometimes this crazy dog of mine can be downright aggravating. She has a tendency....to roll in the most disgusting things..to still think she can be a lapdog..and to bark incessantly at nothing. Then, there are times that she can bring smiles to the face simply because she is a dog. The following is most likely my fault but still she was the one to break me into a fit of giggles.

Ms. Ez sitting in front of her fresh-washed mound of bedding! (She is not too happy about the size of her clean bed!)

I felt sorry for Ezzy when she had to sleep on the cold, hardwood floors so I purchased not one but two of those nice fluffy dog beds. These were stacked one on top of the other to make her a very nice, cushy bed! Smart thinking on my part, I do believe! I, also, bought two fleece lap blankets for her use. Yep..I am a sucker for those big, brown eyes. (In the pictures..those big, brown eyes are the most evil-looking lime green but I promise..she does have brown eyes!) Anyway, the two things do not go well together..oh, the blankets and beds do but not the "rolling in putrid things" and beds. The cushions begin to smell horrible after just one night! I have found that I do more laundry for the dog than I do for the family and trust me when I say..it HAS to be done! I had put off washing the dog bedding for three days as I had marmalade to make. Finally today, I could stand it no longer. Into the machine went the beds and blankets! Afterwards..I poked one at a time into the dryer and they were fluff dried until they came out looking like big, ole, puffy marshmallows! Both of the beds were as round as balls! Not thinking, I stacked them as I usually do and flung one of the blankets across the top. Whoa! That was one huge bed! I grinned as I thought of how she would love to "nest" down in that puffy bed! At about dark, I called to her and let her inside. It was starting to get quite chilly out there and even though she was having a great time chasing the coons, it was time to call it quits.

Ezzy trying to get on her bed..but the bed is on top of her instead!

Enter Ezzy. She looked at the mound of bedding and then at me. "Get on your bed!" I admonished her. She climbed aboard and tried to snuggle into the mush pile. Instead of "nesting" she rolled off onto the floor. Again she stared at me. "Get on your bed!" She attempted it once again with the same results. I giggled..she looked at me with those big, sad eyes. OK..OK..I pulled the blanket off the top and set one bed beside the other..now it was not quite as mountainous! After the blanket was atop..she snuggled down into the fluff. I threw the extra blanket (still warm from the dryer, I might add!) on top of her and she settled down immediately! She, once again, looked at me but this time instead of big, sad eyes..she seemed to smile! Good dog!

Finally! All tucked in for the night!
