Why I never leave

  Most every morning you can find me on the pier greeting the sunrise. There is just something so invigorating about the cool morning air and the promise of a new day.  This morning, I was there.  The sunrise was incredible as usual and I started the day off with a grand attitude.  How could I help it?  Viewing such a miracle each day can do nothing but lift the spirits.  As usual, I photographed the beauty.  Once I was back inside, I shared a few of the pictures with some folks.  I figured that those who do not live on the Bayou might enjoy how I start my day. While several people remarked about the loveliness, my sister's comment was right on target.  She stated that this was "why you never leave the Bayou."  She is so right.  This and so many other wonderful things here keep me locked to the place.  I have everything I need right here.  

  I have always said that the Bayou is my little piece of paradise.  Unlike others, I am not bound in the rat-race of life.  Other than the computer which keeps me connected with each of you, I have eliminated most other electronic contraptions from my life.  I have "unplugged" myself from these demons and found my peace.  I have also found a ton of extra time.  These so-called time-saving devices were eating my life away. Now it is different.   My productivity levels have increased but the relaxation time is just that...relaxing.  I highly recommend that others do the same. It is quite difficult to rip the phones, TV controllers and keyboards from our hands but once it is done, it is as if a giant millstone has been lifted.  

  Bayou, keep working your magic!  I so love this serenity.
