The clouds were spectacular today. Well, in my view, clouds are pretty nifty every day but the ones today were particularly pretty. Late this evening, Mark and I headed down to the pier just to check if shrimp were coming into the Bay. Sad to say, we did not catch a single one but our hike was not in vain. We were treated to some pretty nice cloud formations. The setting sun cast a wonderful shadow on most of the area but a few of the clouds were brilliant white. As we sat there, the clouds shifted and became much darker and heavier. It appears that thunderstorms will once again rock the Little Bayou House after dark. I love it!
Clouds in general have been given a bad rap. Most folks either ignore the sky altogether or wish for a bright sunny day. Me? I wish for clouds...dark, ominous clouds. There is just something a bit mystical about a dark, dreary day. I get inspired. Don't ask me why but I get most creative when the weather is stormy. Perhaps this is none other than the fact that I am stuck indoors but, whatever the case, I almost get excited when the forecast calls for rain.
Today's clouds thickened to the point that Mark and I thought it best to scoot ourselves back up the hillside. In the distance we could see streaks of lightning bouncing in the clouds. The horizon promised more to come. Yep, this weather has me on Cloud Nine! Hmmm, come to think of it, these clouds do have a silver lining! Rain! Beautiful, wet, cooling rain...just what is needed during these hottest days of summer! Come on, clouds!
