The old saying "Red skies in the morning, sailors warning" rings true almost every time. Old time sailors knew how to read the weather. This morning, the sky was ablaze with the fiery turmoil of an approaching storm. The day was beautiful with no hint of turbulent weather. Pop would have said "It is time to get those cabbages in the ground so they can get the rain!" I did just that. I spent the day planting all sorts of greens in the winter garden. Then, along about sunset, things started turning in the opposite direction. The storms are approaching...quickly.
The same weather left our neighbors in Louisiana with some pretty hefty damage in some spots. I truly hope that trend will not follow. Yet, the thunder rolls, rains pound the rooftop of the Little Bayou House and winds are rattling the windows. Hopefully, this will swing on out of here shortly and just leave the cooler air behind it. That...I am looking forward to having.
