Three minutes. That's it. A total of three minutes out of the day is all that is required for the sun to pop to its full glory or as was shown this morning..come up and then..disappear again. There was an incredible layer of low clouds that actually allowed me to fully see the sun. The big ball of red was timed from the first sliver shining over the nearby bridge to the time when the ball disappeared again behind the set of clouds. I was impressed that my morning ritual of observing this phenomenon whisked by in such a short time. Three minutes...can you imagine? My goodness..God can bring light onto the World in less time than it does for most of us drink our first cup of coffee! Of course, if you fully wish to enjoy the sunrise, plan on getting out there a good bit prior to the orb actually presenting itself. (Oh...and take that cup of coffee with you!) The changes in the Eastern sky at dawn are usually pretty amazing and are what most folks refer to as the "sunrise". That big old ball of the sun just happens to zip right on through without us noticing as we are too enthralled at the usual display of kaleidoscopic colors that occur as the result of its rising.
It was quite easy to time the sun this morning though since that cloud cover obscured the surrounding area. There was just the sun and nothing else. Then..it was gone. The grayness set in for most of the morning. No sun until about noontime and then for only a short period. After that, rain threatening clouds once again reigned over the sky. But...three minutes..three short minutes...WOW!
