Making the circle

All things, including fashion, have a way of coming a full circle. Things that were once all the rage, fell out of popularity and went the wayside are all back in style again.  As weird as it may sound, one of the whimsical styles of the past that is now making an extreme comeback is something that I really like.  Tie-dyed clothes of the "hippie era" reached the peak of their popularity in the mid-60s to the mid 70s.  Then as most things do, they fell the wayside only to make another appearance just recently.  I can honestly say, I am glad of their reappearance!  I, personally, like the look!  Perhaps it is just the artist in me but there is just something mesmerizing about the swirls of color!

Tie-dye is a method of resist dyeing of fabric.  Sections of cloth are bound by rubber bands or string before applying dyes to different areas.  The binding resists the dyes from penetrating the cloth creating unusual patterns and swirls.  The method has developed into an art form where new designs are more complex and colors are more intense.  Tie-dye clothes are not just for casual wear any more.  The new designs can be as dressy as any designer outfits.

My daughter-in-law, Joanna, just ordered some tie-dye clothes for their little family.  T-shirts for her and Mark, a darling little dress for their little girl and a onesie for the baby boy.  She ordered the clothing items from a cousin who has started a business selling her creations. The young artist has impressed me with her skill.  The designs and color combinations are exquisite and her prices are perhaps the most reasonable that I have ever seen. I do not usually promote too many businesses but I cannot help but urge you to visit her Esty Shop site!  Why don't you pop over and pay her a visit!
