Twas the night before Christmas down on the Bay,
Not a creature was sleeping, they wanted to play.
Christmas Eve has come to the Bayou and most of the critters are pleasantly satisfied with what the evening has to bring. Their bellies are full, the weather is nice so their dens are snug and the nights have been rather quiet, as of late. Most likely, their Christmas wish list, like mine, is not overly long.
Here, it does not take much to make us happy. We have learned long ago that the physical trappings that come with the season are not what it is all about. The joy of sharing with others means more than any fancy gift tied up in ribbons. The quiet, simple life given is plenty enough.
Folks, enjoy the holidays. Seek out the reason behind it all. Find your own peace and happiness. Do good on your journey though life. And while doing all of this, be kind to the critters both domesticated and wild. They need a bit of Christmas Cheer along with the rest of us. Merry Christmas, Folks, Merry Christmas.
But then the animals heard him exclaim as he flew on the winds..
Merry Christmas..Merry Christmas to all of my Bayou Friends!
