Too much time on my hands...

Sometimes it seems as if days are made with just enough hours to get things accomplished and then there are other days that sort of drag on into eternity. I figure those never-ending days are the ones that we are supposed to be filling with useful things..things that we never have time to do otherwise. So I play! Today..I had a lot of time on my hands even though it was washday for all the bed linens in the house. This was the first sunny day we have had in a while so I took full advantage of my clothesline and had sheets and blankets waving in the North wind all day! Even with all this major laundry, other household chores and visitors, I still had time to ponder a lot of the things that make life interesting...such as....

The Man in the Moon..is this just a myth? All during my younger days, I was told to "look at the Man in the Moon!". At first, I firmly believed there was such a guy! Then, with a few added years, I figured that this was referring to the shadows making an appearance of a face...an "aha" moment! BUT..now I am not so sure! I took this photo of the nice, full moon one night and lo and behold...the Man in the Moon was as clear as a bell! So...is this just a myth..a storybook tale..or is he REAL????

Another pondering...if there was a hole in the ozone as they say, what does it look like? I was out with the camera (as usual) when I spied what could possibly be this hole! Some might say that it is just a cloud formation but I am not so sure! To add to this question..when I was say four years old, I had a conception that the Earth was like a giant snowglobe! We all lived on the bottom and there was this great dome that covered the sky! It held all the clouds in place and if God shook it up, the weather changed! Pretty brilliant deduction for a four year old, I do believe! So...if this snowglobe theory held true..if there was a hole in the ozone would it be like a crack in a snowglobe? Would all the weather fall out of the hole in the ozone and just fly around in space? Just wondering.....

Again with the pondering...if fog is described as a blanket, then why in the world is it not warm and fluffy? Every time I am out in the fog, it feels cold and wet. Why not call it something a bit more apt..say...a "squish of thick fog covered the marsh"! That makes much more sense. My idea of a blanket is something warm and snuggly..something that you cuddle in on a cold day..not cold, slimy and wet! Also..does the world beyond the scope of vision on a foggy day just cease to be until the sun burns away the fog? I think it would make a lot of sense..then folks won't go driving around in white-out fog...you know..."Oops, sorry! I cannot go anywhere today..the fog just ate the rest of the world. I have to wait until the sun replaces it!"

Speaking of the sun..if a prism "breaks" sunlight into the spectrum of colors, how does the sunbeam mend itself? Say if you stuck a prism in the window and it shoots rainbows all over the room, that light beam is supposedly broken into colors. What happens when the prism is moved? I tried this. I have a bunch of crystals in the window that make rainbows everywhere in the room. When I moved them, no more rainbows..so the broken light just disappeared...hmmmm? Did the sunbeam fix itself? All the little broken sunbeams were immediately healed? Something to think about the next time you want to make rainbows...YOU ARE BREAKING SUNBEAMS!

Anyway...like I said, today, I had far too much time on my hands to ponder over the impracticalities of life. (Yeah, that word is probably an impracticality in itself!) I pondered and pondered all of these things as I tried my best to look busy! I have come to the conclusion that some things just have no logical answers and are best left as they are! (hee hee!)
